Youth Coordinator

Job Description | We are seeking a compassionate, relationship-driven, and creative Early Childhood & Elementary Coordinator to join our Youth Program Team. The ideal candidate is passionate about working with children and families, fostering a sense of belonging, and building trusting relationships that help every child feel seen, supported, and capable.

The Early Childhood & Elementary Youth Coordinator plans and implements programming for children infant through 8 years old that nurtures learning, creativity, and connection. This role provides leadership for children and youth programming across all age groups, ensuring safe, engaging, and relationship-based experiences for children and families while all parents are in their Group Night classes

The position requires availability for some after-school and evening hours to support programming and family engagement events as follows:

Weekly After School Enrichment: Mon & Thurs, 4-6 PM

Twice Monthly Group Nights (throughout the school year): Tues, 5-9 PM

Monthly Community Nights: Mon, Tues, or Thurs (days vary each month), 6-9 PM

Key Responsibilities

Plan, implement, and evaluate programs for children ages infant–8 years that emphasize relationships, curiosity, and growth.

Lead Group Night programming for children up to age 12, promoting youth community and connection.

Collaborate closely with the Youth Coordinator to ensure smooth transitions between age groups and consistent family engagement.

Maintain high standards for safety and compliance, including background checks, protection policies, and emergency procedures.

Manage program communications and promotions, ensuring visibility and meaningful family participation.

Serve as a family liaison, supporting parents through school enrollment, IEPs, special education, and early intervention resources.

Connect families with early learning, school readiness, and social-emotional development supports from external organizations.

Support volunteers with warmth, encouragement, and clear direction.

Manage the budget for Early Childhood and Elementary initiatives.

Collaborate on Summer Camp, volunteer training, quarterly birthday celebrations, and annual budget planning as part of the Youth Programming Team.

Education | Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Credentials, Elementary Education, Special Education, Child Development, or related field (required or equivalent experience required).

Experience | Minimum 2-3 years of experience working with children ages 0-8 in a classroom, nonprofit, or program coordination setting.

Experience supporting family engagement, early learning, or special education services preferred.

Proven ability to build strong relationships with children, parents, and volunteers.

Demonstrated success in leading volunteers and collaborating across age levels.

Skills & Attributes
