Unfortunately, we do not provide any emergency assistance or short-term financial assistance (ie. We do NOT provide emergency shelter care, rental assistance, bus passes, food assistance, nor emergency financial assistance). Our resources are exclusively provided to the families enrolled in our program. For immediate help, we recommend calling 211.

The short answer is, no. BeyondHome is specifically designed for families that want to make a long term investment in their stability (within their finances, their relationships, their careers, their families, and their housing). While renting from us at a reduced rate, BeyondHome families participate in coaching, financial literacy courses, job readiness training, and goal-setting all while working and/or attending school. For assistance with only housing, please call 211. If you are interested in our comprehensive program, please click here to learn more https://beyondhome.org/apply

Yes, TANF is considered a source of income. We do request 3 months worth of paystubs at time of application. If TANF is your only income, please provide proof of TANF deposits in this place. Please also note: While we respect TANF as an income source, our aim is to see ALL BeyondHome families secure a livable wage job.

To help provide a safe and comfortable living environment for all residents, BeyondHome does not permit pets in its housing.
We are committed to providing equal housing opportunities and complying with all applicable federal, state, and local fair housing laws. Individuals with disabilities who require a service animal or other legally recognized assistance animal may request a reasonable accommodation exception as part of the application or residency process.
Approved assistance animals are not considered pets. If the disability-related need for an assistance animal is not readily apparent, BeyondHome may request documentation consistent with applicable fair housing laws. Every request is reviewed individually, respectfully, and confidentially.
If you have questions about our pet policy or need to request an accommodation, our team is happy to help guide you through the process.

Applications are completed online and take about an hour to finish. BeyondHome coaches review applications on a regular basis. If there is housing inventory available, and your application passes initial screening, a coach will reach out to you with next steps (which typically includes at least one interview). Final decisions are based on available housing inventory, program readiness, and goal alignment.
-
BeyondHome does not maintain a traditional waitlist. Because families typically remain in the program for 4–5 years, housing opportunities become available only as families successfully transition into permanent housing.
We receive hundreds of applications each year. Families who meet the initial eligibility requirements move through our screening and assessment process, but completing the screening does not guarantee acceptance into the program.
Some families are accepted within a few weeks, while others may wait several months for an opening. Unfortunately, not every eligible family can be accepted due to limited housing availability and the number of families seeking services. Families who are not accepted are encouraged to continue working with other housing and community resources while exploring future opportunities with BeyondHome.

BeyondHome is a Christian nonprofit organization that believes every person is created in the image of God and possesses inherent dignity, value, and worth. Our work is rooted in the life, teachings, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, whose example calls us to love our neighbors, care for those experiencing hardship, pursue justice, extend compassion, and walk alongside others with humility and hope.
BeyondHome serves families experiencing homelessness and poverty with compassion, excellence, accountability, and grace. We are committed to providing support and services that empower families to experience lasting self-sufficiency. Following the example of Jesus, we seek to know people well, love them genuinely, and walk alongside them as they build lives of stability, purpose, and hope. We believe that lasting transformation occurs through authentic relationships where individuals are respected, challenged, and supported.
BeyondHome believes that every person can experience restoration and new life. We believe that through Jesus Christ, God offers forgiveness, reconciliation, and the opportunity for a restored relationship with Him. It is our sincere desire that families would come to know God's love through their encounters with staff, volunteers and Board Members.
BeyondHome welcomes families of every faith tradition, background, and worldview. We do not require participation in religious activities or agreement with our beliefs as a condition of receiving housing or services. Spiritual conversations, prayer, Bible study, and other faith-based opportunities are always voluntary and offered only in response to the expressed interest of the individual or family.
