Arvada South Renovations
VISION | Refresh older units with a trauma-informed design approach. The work being done in each of these homes is driven by our goal to provide families with spaces that reflect the dignity that is inherent to their humanity.
GOALS | Complete substantial renovations on 22 transitional housing units to improve living conditions and sustainability
Collaborate with the home-building industry to secure as many in-kind donations as possible, maximizing resources and reducing costs
Successfully house 22 families in the newly renovated homes by December 30, 2026, providing safe and stable environments for those in need
SCOPE | A twenty one-unit renovation project done as families move out in the next two years (One unit has already been completed.)
CURRENT STATUS | Thanks to the incredible efforts of HomeAid Colorado, Millender White, Lennar Homes, and Thomas Sattler Residential Homes, eight of our units are undergoing in-depth renovations right now. These dedicated partners have worked hard to reduce the costs for each unit as much as possible. So far, materials have been either donated, or builder captains have generously covered the expenses. What originally had a projected cost of $480,000 for eight units is now expected to come in under $100,000! Best of all, we’re thrilled to share that all eight homes are on track to welcome new families by the end of 2024.
In addition to the 22 unit renovation, all 37 BeyondHome units will have upgraded HVAC systems including central air conditioning. This is made possible through our partnership with Four Seasons Heating and Cooling, who secured donated furnaces and AC units from Carrier. Typically, the scope of HVAC work for each unit would cost around $13,000, but we're completing it for just $4,000 per unit which will save BeyondHome more than $300K!
